ጉባኤ GUBA-E

ጉባኤ Guba-e means ‘conference’ in Amharic, the national language of Ethiopia. November 2019 marks the third annual international Ethiopian Otology ጉባኤ Guba-e. This 3rd conference, like the first two before it, will feature international speakers and attendees. The format for this year’s conference will be to encourage our fellow African otologists to explore their resources and share strategies for success.

THE CONTENT

The medical content of this conference will focus on tympanosclerosis, a very widespread problem in our area. The surgical techniques as developed by Professor Vijayendra and Dr. Es-hak will show how they handle these cases in live surgeries. Another major focus of the conference will be to share advice on managing surgical education, and managing the operating theater. Finally, we will touch base on cochlear implantation. Every effort will be made to provide CME credit for Ethiopian nationals.
